What should I do if the smart lock fails?

Apr 29, 2025

First, the outer handle cannot be locked when lifted up, and cannot be unlocked when pressed down. This problem may be that the square steel and the square steel connecting shaft of the outer panel have fallen off, and the square steel needs to be reinstalled.
There are models of smart locks that do not distinguish directions. First, check whether the limit direction of the clutch is correct. After confirming whether the compression spring is installed in the shaft hole of the rear panel, if it is not installed, the square steel will fall off during use and cannot be opened normally.
Second, the inner and outer handles do not return to their positions. If the square steel is too long, the square steel connecting shaft of the front and rear panels will be stuck to death, causing the handles of the front and rear panels to not return to their positions, which requires the corresponding square steel to be replaced. If the inspection finds that the front panel, lock body, and rear panel are not parallel, the front and rear panels and lock body must be adjusted. Sometimes the upper and lower connecting bolts and the square steel are not vertically on the same line, and the connecting screws should be adjusted appropriately.
Third, the main lock tongue of the installed lock body does not return to its position (the main lock tongue is high). If the front and rear panels are not installed properly, the square steel will be misaligned. The solution is to gently loosen the upper and lower connecting bolts and slightly adjust the front and rear panels. If there is a point of contact between the lock hook and the door frame, it is necessary to adjust or polish to avoid the point of contact. If there is a problem with the quality of the lock body itself or the matching problem between the lock body and the door, there is no other way but to replace the lock body.
